Furihata Arata joined the factory during 2009. At that time, he participated in the making of the Headway Standard series doing preparation and processing of the raw materials. He was also in charge of ukelele production. Then for a while, he worked with electric guitars, and after that, he went back to acoustic guitar making. Only this time, he was working on the Aska team build series under the direct care of veterans like Yasuo Momose and Masato Yasui, working on various different areas of the guitar making process. Learning the entire process in a detailed manner and internalizing how to obtain the optimal sound when creating an acoustic guitar.
This is Furihata Custom’s HO model. Using Adirondack Spruce for the body top, Indian Rosewood for the side, and Indian Rosewood and Madagascar Rosewood for the body back, with Furihata’s original Cross-round 3 Piece design. Lastly, a semi-rear shifted X bracing was implemented to improve both sturdiness and improving the overall sound of the guitar.
The thin contouring that goes through the body top and back is made out of Flame Maple giving the guitar a gorgeous outwards appearance. The nut, saddle and endpin are all made out of Water buffalo bone. Every single component in this guitar is made out of really high-quality materials, which will undoubtedly give an equally high-quality guitar as a result.

"In terms of sound, we made it with the aim of achieving both core strength and luster. We also made the binding, nut, saddles, and endpin using natural materials to create a soft and warm image.
The part with the most detailed treatment on this guitar is the contour. Although it is a shallow contour, the binding is made out of Flame Maple that has been carefully shaped from a single piece of wood.
Also, the endpin is designed so adding a pickup is very easy for anyone that wants to do so.”
