Bracing:  Adirondack Spruce bracing, Scalloped Advanced Rear Shift.

Headway has been working since 2016 on the "advanced rear shift." First adopted in a custom model produced by Momose, and then developed through trial and error production, it finally became a reality in the Asuka team build series in 2017.

The -Advanced rear shift- is a design where the bracing crossing point is shifted slightly closer to the bridge. Common knowledge tells us that a forwards shift is the most suitable design for a good sound and that moving closer to the bridge will result in a more stiff and unwieldy sound, but through trial and error and enough adjustments, we landed on a design that not only avoids these downsides but also gives a more articulate tone and particularly a great boost to the sound on the high E and B strings.

Neck: Cuban Mahogany
By using Cuban mahogany for the neck, which works as the core from where the sound propagates, we were able to get a tighter sound than before.

Position markers: Snowflake Avalone

 Body: The body top is Adirondack Spruce and a Madagascar rosewood side and back.

The Adirondack Spruce we use on the body top of this model is a rare material that is has a big impact on the resulting sound. And High quality Madagascar rosewood is used for the side and back material, a material which is becoming increasingly rare, and competes in terms of hardness and sound quality with the Jacaranda,

Body decoration: Large herringbone

Headstock top: Madagascar Rosewood
Madagascar rosewood, which is also used for the body side and back, is adopted for the headstock top. This really gives this model a lot of style and a luxurious look.

Pickguard: Equipped with a red swirl pickguard, with an impactful deep red color.
