Headway guitars hold an image of having thick necks for some people, and for this reason, those who don’t prefer thicker necks have passed on getting a Headway guitar in the past, even though many benefits come from having thicker necks, soundwise.
For this reason, we have developed our thinnest neck to date, having in mind especially players that prefer finger-picking and a thin, narrow neck grip to play fast passages effortlessly.

The first thing to worry about by making the neck grip thinner is "neck strength", but of course we knew this and made sure to pay all the attention needed to this point. For the first time in the Aska Team Build series, the "High Strength Neck" truss rod + two support carbon rod combo, which has been adopted in recent years by Yasuo Momose and other craftsmen in the Headway Custom Shop product, has been also chosen for this design!

The thinner the grip, the less mass the neck body has, but the high-strength neck structure increases rigidity and suppresses unnecessary neck bending and deformations, and the vibration of the strings is transmitted smoothly to the body top. Contrary to what you would think, even if the neck is thinner, with this design it feels like the sound of the guitar has improved compared to your conventional 500 series acoustic guitar.
