And that feature is, the -Extra Slimp U Grip-.
The Headway necks (of the current models) can be divided into three different shapes. The triangular "Narrow V", tent-shaped "U", and "Slim U" which is a thin version of this tent-shaped "U". The Slim U neck shape has been used on the renewed 500 series so users that have tried the new 500 series, have also tried the “Slim U” neck design

On that note, for some time now, we have received feedback that the neck was too "thick" or "stiff" from some players. I don't know if there was a saying that goes "The thickness of the neck is the thickness of the sound", but a guitar with a thin neck has a hard time separating every single note without crushing them into a muddy mess, or at least that’s the sensation many people have about thin necks.
Our necks here at Headway might have been a bit thicker than other acoustic guitars on the market, even if having a thicker neck wasn’t really the intention.
I think that there are some players who thought ("This neck is too thick!") when they first tried a Headway guitar and have shunned the entire Headway brand after that. And so, to cover those player’s needs, we designed a neck grip that drastically repaints that image. Compared to the base U-grip, the thickness on the 1st fret is 22 mm for the U-grip and 20.5 mm for the -Extra Slim U-grip-, which is a significant difference of 1.5 mm.
Even if there are two guitars of the same type, the hand feel is refined, so you can easily tell a subtle yet noticeable difference between the two necks. 1.5mm might not sound like much but believe us, it makes a big difference.
